Choosing a Honeymoon
If a couple decides on a destination wedding or a honeymoon trip, it should be an enjoyable, stress-free experience.
The American Society of Travel Agents offers the following tips to couples planning a destination wedding or honeymoon:
- Communicate and compromise from the start about the dream destination you would like to visit.
- Let an expert travel professional assist in planning your honeymoon or destination wedding and take the pressure off you.
- Plan ahead by setting a budget and deciding on what you will splurge and where you will save. Couples planning a destination wedding often save money, compared with more traditional events.
- Brides, make sure the name used on all your travel documents is the same. Unless you're taking a delayed honeymoon, you won't have time to change the name on your passport and driver's license.
- If you’re getting married overseas, work with a travel professional specializing in destination weddings, who can handle all the marriage license details.
