We had a great experience at our resort on Grand Bahama Island! The rooms were nice, and the view was awesome! The grounds were very pretty and well kept, the pool area was really nice, and the beach was wonderful! They had plenty of activities too. My dad and I went snorkeling a couple of times. There was a reef you could swim to from our beach, and we saw some really neat things! The water was soooo clear and beautiful, and I had never been snorkeling before, so I thought that was awesome! We also went kayaking, and even played a little water polo! They had shows every night at the resort, and most of them were really good! We only went into town a couple of times, because we had plenty to do where we were. We had to take about a 20 minute taxi ride into town, but that's what I really liked about the resort. There was pretty much nothing around it. We could go for walks along the beach, and once we were off the resort property, there was really nothing else. There were a few houses, but that was it! We wanted something secluded and peaceful, and that's definitely what we got! It was great I can honestly say the wedding was just what I've always wanted! It was very relaxed and brief, but the justice of the peace did a fantastic job. More than anything, she just spoke to us and gave us advice on marriage and how to stay in love. It was a really nice ceremony. And, we even had a few guests...some Germans watched from their balcony! They were very nice and spoke a little English, so we got to know them a little throughout the week. We really enjoyed talking to them, and seeing and hearing people from so many different countries. I really can't even think of much that would have made our week better. We got up every morning and ate breakfast, then went to the beach until the late afternoon. There was a snack area and a bar on the beach, so we didn't have any reason to leave until it was time for dinner!! Ha! We had an amazing time, and we still get a little sad when we look at the pictures because we often wish we were back there! I tell everyone that a destination wedding is definitely the way to go! How many brides do you know lay on the beach until 3:00, get married at 5:15, then hit the bar to celebrate by 6:00!?! And, to top it all off, have the beautiful Carribean waters as a backdrop for the whole thing!! Thank you so much for all of your help Kristie!! Our weddingmoon was everything we had imagined! We couldn't have been happier!
